Position Overview: Cox Media Group (CMG) is seeking a Director, Digital Distribution & Partnerships to provide leadership, guidance, and oversight to support CMG's streaming and linear strategy. This role partners with other leaders across the organization to execute and implement distribution strategies across all platforms. The position is responsible for analyzing, tracking, and measuring the results of distribution efforts. The ideal candidate will develop relationships and identify distribution partnerships to drive revenue growth while identifying new and existing business opportunities to increase revenue.
Location: Atlanta, GA is preferred, but remote candidates will also be considered.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Executes and manages our portfolio of streaming distribution channels and partners, creating revenue growth.
Creates strategic distribution partnerships and negotiates impactful deals in the evolving media landscape.
Supervises day-to-day communication with marketing and programming contacts across partner platforms to grow and optimize new user acquisition, viewer engagement, and retention.
Manages the full life cycle of distribution and content acquisition, including deal negotiation, legal review, fulfillment, content delivery, analytics, payments, and reporting.
Builds strong relationships internally and externally. Works collaboratively across the organization to manage existing partnerships and seek new distribution opportunities.
Develops and executes distribution strategies that drive and increase revenue.
Understands existing contracts and stays close to industry trends to identify new opportunities.
Maintains content availabilities for CMG-owned and third-party licensed content.
Keeps an active overview of current and pipeline distribution partnerships, including project trackers, one-sheets, status reports, etc.
Analyzes information and data to identify areas for growth and optimization.
Streamlines and unifies the management of the streaming partner lifecycle across the organization.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or equivalent with 6-8 years of relevant work experience
5 years proven track record of negotiating contracts and deals in the media landscape from planning to closure
Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong internal and external (vendor) relationships
Self-starter with proven ability to work independently
Familiarity with streaming platforms SVOD, FAST, and AVOD services
Experience with Amagi or similar cloud playout solutions (Wurl, Frequency, OTTera, etc.)
Excellent communication, problem-solving, and persuasive skills
General understanding of the digital product ecosystem
Strong analytics skills and business acumen with the ability to make data-driven decisions
Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize
Ability to travel as necessary
Valid driver’s license with clean driving record required
