Eurofins EAG Laboratories is seeking a
Technician
to join our Materials Characterization (MC) team located in Sunnyvale, CA. In this position, you will work closely with Ph.D. scientists on a daily basis and support the MC team by preparing samples for analyses. There is also the potential to learn instrument operation to aid in data acquisition. Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Materials Science, Chemistry, Physics, Engineering or related field. Experience operating machinery such as drills, bandsaws, polishers or other basic machine shop tools is required. Experience with wet chemistry etching and/or mechanical polishing and cutting is preferred. Knowledgeable with optical microscopes is a plus. Excellent communication skills; able to understand detailed instructions and communicate effectively. Able to lift up to 30 lbs. Computer literate, high level of accuracy, and detail oriented. Able to handle multiple functions at the same time and maintain good organizational skills. Physical Requirements
Ability to operate a personal computer or lab equipment for extended periods (4+ hours). Ability to operate a keyboard and lab equipment, use a telephone, and access files and equipment at various levels. Must wear appropriate PPE as required (respirators, safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, protective clothing). Ability to communicate clearly in normal conversation, over the telephone, and in group settings. Close distance visual acuity with or without correction. Ability to learn new tasks, remember processes, and complete tasks independently under workflow speed requirements. Must be able to remain in a stationary position 60% of the time. Ability to move equipment or items up to 30 lbs. Additional Information
Compensation Range: $25.20 - $32.21/hr. Pay rate will be commensurate with experience and degree of technical expertise. Benefits & Work Environment
