Lab Tech Supp Spec II - 0.6 - Days - Clinical Laboratory LG / El Camino Health. The Laboratory Technical Support Specialist is a multi-skilled position that efficiently processes patient and specimen workflow to support the Laboratory's commitment to provide accurate, reliable, and timely information to clinicians. The Laboratory Technical Support Specialist (TSS) provides professional, courteous, and competent phlebotomy and/or clerical services for hospital inpatients, outpatients, physicians, nursing staff, and support services. FTE: 0.6 Scheduled Bi-Weekly Hours: 48 Work Shift: Day, 8 hours Location: El Camino Health facilities (including Mountain View and Los Gatos campuses) or locations within a 15-mile radius; shifts across departments may be required Responsibilities
Process patient and specimen workflow to support the Laboratory's commitment to accurate, reliable, and timely information for clinicians. Provide professional phlebotomy and/or clerical services for inpatients, outpatients, physicians, nursing staff, and support services. Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent Six months phlebotomy experience in a hospital setting, including venipuncture for all ages and neonatal capillary collection (preferred) Minimum one year Laboratory TSS equivalent experience during the past 3 years (preferred) Basic PC-based knowledge; experience with networked environments and medical-clinical applications (preferred) Manual dexterity and ability to learn new procedures within a specified time frame Minimum one year experience in specimen accessioning, processing, packaging for transport and registration (preferred) English proficiency for patient care and customer service Availability to work weekends on a rotational basis and holidays; flexible hours; enterprise-wide and other shifts as needed License/Certification
