Position Summary This position is responsible for the daily operational function and leadership of the Inpatient Laboratory Departments for both Orange Coast and Saddleback Medical Centers. This position ensures that fiscal and human resources are managed effectively in order to contribute to the delivery of high-quality healthcare services while meeting and, whenever possible, exceeding operational and fiscal objectives.
Essential functions and responsibilities The Executive Director, Laboratory Services, Orange County Region, is responsible for strategic planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of all projects and programs related to the Clinical Lab/Anatomic Pathology.
Minimum requirements Qualifications/Work Experience:
Five years of previous experience in a management position in laboratory services
Seven years of clinical laboratory experience
Knowledge of understanding Title 22, CAP, AABB, FDA, CDPH, HCFA, and Joint Commission
Highly developed sense of initiative and ability to function independently
Management skills to direct, support, and motivate subordinates, peers, and other professional associates to accomplish department and organizational goals and objectives
Basic understanding of financial reports and ability to utilize such data
Time management skills and the ability to perform effectively under stress
Good judgment combined with sound basic financial analysis skills
Knowledge of computer systems implementation necessary to evaluate, anticipate, analyze and solve the various problems which arise daily in the department
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Education/Licensure/Certification
Current CA Clinical Laboratory Scientist License
