Senior Principal Systems Engineer - Military FMS (Onsite) at Collins Aerospace. Location: Cedar Rapids, IA. Onsite role. U.S. citizenship required for access to program information; security clearance not required. What You Will Do

Design updates to the Flight Management software for C-130 and E-2D avionics and help lead a team of engineers implementing the design Lead teams in the development of requirements and tests for fixed-wing platforms as a member of the Flight Management Applications engineering team Communicate plans and status on assigned stories to agile team members, internal stakeholders, and external customers Coordinate with the platform engineering team and other software domain teams to identify and track dependencies for shared features Engage with the program team to ensure the system meets customer needs Champion knowledge sharing and elevate department expertise through formal training and informal mentoring What You Will Learn

Deepen expertise in cutting-edge avionic systems and become a subject matter expert in military software applications Impact avionics by contributing to software solutions that enhance aircraft operational capabilities worldwide Qualifications You Must Have

Typically requires a degree in STEM and minimum 10 years of relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree with minimum 7 years of experience U.S. citizenship is required to access information under this program/contract Experience with DO-178 or similar certification-based development processes Experience in developing avionics displays and/or Flight Management Systems (FMS) Proven experience in designing and delivering software in production or customer-facing environments Experience with peer reviews, configuration, and change management Familiarity with Python scripting AGILE development methodology experience Qualifications We Prefer

Excellent proactive communication (written, verbal, interpersonal) Experience with JIRA Ability to contribute to formal bids/proposals and in-process work tracking What We Offer
