This is a hybrid position based in Washington, DC, USA. Help us build an activated Planetary Health movement! We are looking for someone to lead Next Generation (youth) programming. In addition, the Program Specialist will work with a small team on member engagement —including orienting and onboarding new members and communicating with and providing programming for members. Duties & Responsibilities Develop strategy and design/execute programming for the Planetary Health Campus Ambassador program and the Next Generation Youth Council. Duties range from program design to mentorship of an international cohort of 50+ students. Oversee the PHA’s Next Generation Network team, including the Next Generation Youth Council and Impact Fellows. Conduct outreach (including presentations) to expand the PHA community and onboard new members monthly. Design and implement stakeholder annual surveys, needs assessments, and other similar efforts to ensure that PHA resources are effectively and strategically used to support the evolving needs and priorities of its members. Ensure that Next Generation and membership programming are aligned with broader organizational objectives and programming (e.g., Regional Hubs, Planetary Health Annual Meeting). Program Specialists independently manage the planning, implementation, and execution of a significant program within a department. The Program Specialist is responsible for all administrative and financial functions, events, reporting, supervision and/or oversight of operational staff with program responsibilities. Duties & Responsibilities Responsible for setting goals and planning to meet program objectives. Develop, maintain, and oversee timelines for all special activities, ensuring timely completion of deliverables. Develop budget and manage program expenses, projections, and reporting. Plan and manage outreach activities and internal events, working with vendors and internal resources as needed. Create, develop and expand communications via websites, social media channels, and publication materials as needed. Represent the program internally and externally. Ensure timely, accurate and appropriate reporting of program activities. Monitor, evaluate and implement business practices and procedures to support the day-to-day operational needs of the program. Review and evaluate program needs, while maintaining cost effectiveness. Manage and oversee the timely compilation of annual reports and work plans. May supervise and/or oversee operational staff with program responsibilities. Perform other related duties as requested. This position will require occasional travel and may require shifting working hours to accommodate international calls. To Apply
