Overview
Role Description: Are you a designer interested in creating meaningful people-driven digital experiences with a relentless focus on impact at scale and evangelizing the value of design? Are you fascinated by human behavior and curious about how organizational culture, context and technology connect?
As an Associate Designer, you’ll collaborate with researchers and strategists to solve Salesforce’s business challenges through emerging tech-led, insight-based prototypes and designs. You’ll be involved in all aspects of a project, from user research and prototyping to product definition and delivery, and pitching to business stakeholders along the way. You’ll create exceptional user-centered work and help others see the value of design, from experimenting with new technologies to articulating design principles and synthesizing trends.
About Digital Enterprise Experience (DEX) UX Design DEX UX Design is an internal-facing, innovation team within Salesforce focused on internal employee experience across Salesforce’s internal infrastructure. We partner with internal teams like Employee Success, Global Safety & Security, Sales, and Customer Success to recognize and adapt to change, charting a course toward a more robust, AI-driven digital future through human-centered design.
Our typical UX work combines strategic advisory, visioning, user research, ideation, storytelling, value propositions, workshop facilitation, rapid prototyping, end-user concept testing, and product design. Join us as we help employees live their best work lives.
What we’re looking for If you’re interested in projects and teammates that push you to grow, cross-disciplinary teams, prototyping with emerging technologies, storytelling to engage customers, and using design to catalyze change at the executive level, we’d like to hear from you.
Responsibilities
Serve as a champion for design thinking and a human-centered, entrepreneurial approach to strategic enterprise transformation with internal business partners and customers
Collaborate with researchers, designers, strategists and technologists to flex across innovation sprints and deliver design-ready work
Support stakeholder and secondary research; participate in end-user primary research; identify meaningful end-user pain points and unmet needs
Support collaborative workshops and synthesize insights into defensible visions, frameworks, and concepts
Support concept validation testing and occasional co-design sessions with end-users
Stay abreast of emerging and best-in-class user experiences and maintain a high-level understanding of Salesforce platform capabilities
Apply documented design systems thoughtfully to deliver consistent and intuitive UI/UX
Help create, test, and share new tools, methods, and processes for innovation engagements and maximize insight value
Basic Qualifications
1–3 years of relevant work experience (including internships) in design or related field, delivering engaging digital interactions
HCI, interaction design, product design, design thinking, or related degree
Ability to rapidly bring ideas to life through hand-drawn storyboards to functioning prototypes
Strong understanding of design thinking and user-centered practices
Experience working with software developers and understanding of the software development process
Figma, Figjam, Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, Lucidchart; GPT model experience (Cursor or vibe-coding a plus)
Excellent verbal, presentation, and written communication skills
Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively
Positive attitude with a bias toward iteration and action; ability to collaborate with Product, Engineering, and Architecture teams
Subject matter expertise in Global Safety & Security, HR (including Employee Success), and/or Real Estate & Workplace Services is a plus
An online or digital portfolio is required to apply for this position. In lieu of a cover letter, please provide a one- or two-paragraph response to the following: Tell us a recent example of something you were inspired by and what implications it has for design and technology.
