Ochsner Children’s Hospital is recruiting a pediatric cardiologist to direct our Pediatric Heart Failure/Heart Transplant Program in New Orleans, LA.

This position includes care of patients with cardiomyopathies, heart failure, transplant, congenital heart disease, and ventricular assist devices. Candidates would be joining two heart failure/heart transplant cardiologists and a newly hired heart failure/transplant physician assistant in the only pediatric heart transplant center in Louisiana. The transplant team is supported by dedicated transplant coordinators, transplant psychologist, transplant social worker, transplant pharmacist, and palliative care team. Ochsner Health has all pediatric cardiac sub-specialties including EP, ACHD, interventional cardiology, imaging including echocardiography and cardiac MRI and CT, and fetal cardiology. We have 3 congenital heart surgeons and a dedicated pediatric cardiac intensive care unit. BC/BE in pediatric cardiology Completed an advanced fellowship in pediatric heart failure/heart transplant or minimum of 5 years of experience in the field. Education responsibilities include the education of Tulane-Ochsner pediatric residents and medical students, and our own University of Queensland medical students. Responsibilities

Direct the Pediatric Heart Failure/Heart Transplant Program. Provide patient care for cardiomyopathies, heart failure, transplant, congenital heart disease, and ventricular assist devices. Ochsner Children’s, comprised of more than 85 primary care pediatricians who are part of our group of over 290 pediatric medical and surgical subspecialists in 27 locations across Louisiana and Mississippi, is the region’s leading integrated provider of multispecialty care for newborns, infants, children, adolescents, and young adults. We offer a full range of complex specialty services including congenital heart surgery and cardiac transplantation, liver and bone marrow transplantation, advanced GI and Hepatology, Hematology-Oncology and AYA Oncology, and a comprehensive surgical sub-specialty group including Cleft Palate/Cranio-Facial Surgery, advanced spine surgery and the Gulf South’s only comprehensive, multidisciplinary developmental pediatrics center. Ochsner Children’s Hospital includes a 67-bed Level IV Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, a 14-bed PICU, a 12-bed pediatric CV-ICU, a NAEC-accredited level IV, 4 bed Pediatric EMU and a 44-bed Pediatric Acute Care unit, with a dedicated pediatric emergency room, supported by a 24-7 pediatric and neonatal transport team utilizing rotary and fixed wing aircraft, as well as ground transport.

We recently began construction on a new 5-story Children’s Hospital on our main campus in New Orleans, with expected opening at the start of 2028. Ochsner Children’s Hospital has an ACGME-accredited pediatric residency program and is also responsible for teaching pediatric residents from the Tulane-Ochsner Pediatric Residency program as well as medical students from both Tulane and the University of Queensland. Ochsner Health and Xavier University of Louisiana recently announced an agreement to establish a joint allopathic College of Medicine, the Xavier Ochsner College of Medicine, which is in the LCME accreditation process currently. Our faculty publishes hundreds of research papers annually and lead numerous multi-center studies and trials. Ochsner Children’s is a leader in healthcare innovation.
