Gann Academy, a pluralistic Jewish high school in the Greater Boston area, is recruiting an Assistant Head of School for Jewish Education/School Rabbi to begin in 2026. This Jewish visionary and dugma ishit will inspire high school students to engage in deep Jewish learning and find meaning in Jewish life inside and outside the classroom. At 28 years old, Gann Academy is in a place of remarkable strength. In fall 2025, the school welcomed nearly 345 students, grades 9-12, from 22 different middle schools and a diverse array of Jewish communities across the spectrum of Jewish observance. The school is in excellent financial health with balanced budgets and an endowment of over $30 million. Gann is governed by a professionally run Board that adheres to independent school governance principles outlined by the National Association of Independent Schools (NAIS). The educational program includes expanded Jewish Studies, Hebrew Language, and Jewish Life departments, and a newly opened Innovation Space with courses in arts, computing, fabrication, engineering, and design. The Jewish Studies Scholars and Hebrew Scholars Programs offer additional Limudei Kodesh and Hebrew language courses and serve as international models for Jewish educators. Summary of Job Responsibilities

The Assistant Head of School (AHoS) for Jewish Education will join Gann’s senior leadership team, serving as the main decision-making cabinet of the school. The successful candidate must be a proven team manager who can inspire adults toward a common goal and cultivate a culture of hard work, innovation, and expansive thinking. The candidate must have significant content expertise in Jewish Studies, Israel education, and Hebrew Language. Essential Functions

Key Administrative Responsibilities Work collaboratively with the other Assistant Heads of School to ensure consistent approaches to teaching and learning across departments Manage the Jewish Life team and other Jewish educators as needed Ensure the highest quality programming in Jewish life that respects the pluralistic nature of the community Communicate effectively and collaboratively with parents Participate in weekend and evening admissions and development events Key Teaching and Advising Responsibilities Chaperone Shabbatonim, holiday programming, and other overnight experiences such as athletic tournaments with Jewish schools, the senior retreat, and orientation Travel to Israel each year with Gann students Teach one class of Jewish Studies per semester Lead Zman Kodesh Monday and Thursday, and mincha every day Advise a group of students in Grades 10-12 Actively work to engage students in the cultivation of their Jewish journeys Key Pastoral Responsibilities Lead whole-school assemblies, parent meetings, student programs, and other ceremonies Represent the school in the Jewish community with other communal organizations Support families experiencing loss and other challenging circumstances Provide 1:1 support to students seeking spiritual guidance Qualifications Desired Competencies, Skills, and Commitments Excellent attention to detail and project management skills 3–5 years of successful team management experience (plus) 3–5 years of successful teaching experience at middle or high school level in Jewish Education Programming experience in Jewish Education Excellent written and oral communication skills Excellent interpersonal skills and high EQ Rabbinical Degree Written and spoken Hebrew preferred Ability to lead others in managing relationships, navigate conflict, and foster a positive work environment Fortitude, resilience, calm, and expansive thinking under pressure Willingness to join an extremely hardworking team Ability to inspire engagement in Jewish life across the religious spectrum Strong personal commitment to passionate Jewish living and learning Strong personal commitment to Jewish pluralism Strong personal connection to, and deep love of, Israel To Apply

Salary range is $140,000 – $160,000, depending on experience. Relocation support and tuition benefits available. Working Conditions / Physical Demands
