businesses. This executive role will oversee tax strategy, planning, compliance, and operations across multiple pillars including
Corporate Tax ,
Treasury & M&A Tax Planning ,
Transfer Pricing ,
State and Local Tax (SALT) ,
VAT/Indirect Tax , and leadership of
Regional Tax Teams . Reporting directly to the
CFO , the Head of Tax will be responsible for navigating complex global tax environments, driving operational excellence, and supporting strategic initiatives across a rapidly evolving media landscape. Your Role Accountabilities Corporate Tax Strategy & Governance
Lead global corporate tax strategy and policy development, ensuring alignment with business goals and regulatory requirements. Oversee tax compliance and reporting across all jurisdictions, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and audit readiness. Manage relationships with external advisors, auditors, and tax authorities. Monitor legislative changes and assess business impact. Partner with legal and government affairs to advocate for favorable tax policy. Tax Planning for Treasury & M&A
Partner with Treasury and Corporate Development to design and execute tax-efficient structures for financing, repatriation, and acquisitions. Lead tax due diligence, structuring, and integration for M&A transactions. Advise on entity rationalization, IP migration, and cross-border tax planning. Regional Tax Leadership
Manage and mentor regional tax leaders across EMEA, LATAM, APAC, and North America. Ensure consistent application of global tax policies and alignment with local regulations. Foster collaboration and knowledge sharing across regions. Global Tax Challenges
Navigate evolving international tax frameworks including OECD Pillar One & Two, BEPS, and digital services taxes. Address tax complexities related to streaming revenue models, content production, and global licensing. Mitigate risks associated with regulatory changes, tax audits, and cross-border operations. Lead proactive planning to manage tax exposure in high-risk jurisdictions. Stakeholder Engagement & Advisory
Serve as a strategic advisor to the CFO and executive leadership on tax matters. Collaborate with Legal, Finance, Treasury, and HR to support cross-functional initiatives. Represent Warner Bros. Discovery in external forums, industry groups, and regulatory engagements. Leadership & Talent Development
Build and mentor a diverse, globally distributed team of accounting professionals. Champion talent development, succession planning, and leadership capability across international finance teams. Model and drive department agility through a culture of continuous process improvement and change management. Encourage collaboration and productive relationships across teams. Qualifications & Experience 15+ years of progressive tax leadership experience in global, publicly traded companies. Deep expertise in corporate tax, international tax planning, transfer pricing, and indirect tax. Proven track record of leading complex tax operations and strategic initiatives. Strong understanding of media, entertainment, and digital streaming business models. Exceptional leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; Master’s, JD, or LLM preferred. CPA or equivalent international tax certification. Problem-Solving skills, ability to solve highly complex problems as they arise and mitigate risks early. High standards for quality, must want to build the best possible reporting and compliance practice. Strong professional ethics. Strategic Thinker, understanding the big picture. Ability to communicate effectively to stakeholders at all levels, with strong interpersonal skills Ability to influence & motivate teams, set the tone, assess stakeholder sentiment, and take steps to shift opinions to motivate in high pressure environments. Strong financial acumen and understanding of historical and forecasted financial performance to advise on new entity Inclusive attitude regarding people and other disciplines, ability to work with highly diverse groups from different organizations, workstreams, geographies, and backgrounds. Strong intellectual curiosity. Transparent approach to working with team and financial auditors. Openness to working in co-source arrangement with Big 4 firms. Experience managing tax functions in a matrixed, multinational organization. Prior leadership of tax teams supporting both studio and streaming businesses. Base pay is just one component of Warner Bros. Discovery’s total compensation package for employees. Pay Range: $267,400.00 - $496,600.00 salary per year. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, short- and long-term incentives, and program-specific awards. In addition, Warner Bros.
