Northrop Grumman Defense Systems seeks a System Engineer to join our diverse team, working on the Forward Area Air Defense (FAAD) portfolio of programs in Redondo Beach, CA. The selected candidate will perform system engineering tasks for an Army Air Defense System that includes defense against manned aircraft; rockets, artillery, and mortars; unmanned aerial systems (UAS); and cruise missile defense. Location: Redondo Beach, CA. Travel: Yes, 10% of the time. Relocation assistance may be available. Clearance type: Secret. This requisition may be filled at the Principal System Engineer or Senior Principal System Engineer level. Base pay range: $110,300.00/yr - $206,000.00/yr. Primary salary range: $110,300.00 - $165,500.00. Secondary salary range: $137,400.00 - $206,000.00. The above salary ranges represent general guidelines; actual offers are determined based on scope, responsibilities, candidate experience, education, skills, and market conditions. Evaluate impacts to the FAAD system and its interfaces resulting from changing requirements such as new weapons/sensors and updates to military/industry standards Analyze, evaluate, recommend and implement changes to interface documents developed and managed by the FAAD team Author ICDs and whitepapers Support FAAD Requirements, Software and I&T teams in interoperability tasks, including support at off-site integration events Basic Qualifications

Understanding of system engineering principles, and their application to a software-based system Experience in providing systems engineering for software systems Experience in the analysis of diverse systems and their ability to interoperate Experience in investigating and defining ConOps and Information Exchange Requirements (IERs), including leading technical exchanges with customers and vendors Familiarity with Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and tools such as Cameo Strong multi-tasking and time-management skills Willingness to travel (~4 times per year) Hold or able to obtain DoD Secret clearance Preferred but Not Required

Experience with diverse message types (Protobuf, Binary, XML, etc.) Familiarity with requirements development and DOORS Experience developing use cases, sequence diagrams and activity diagrams Experience generating ICDs from scratch Experience with Army or Joint military message or interface standards (e.g., MIL-STD-6016) Ability to work with diverse technical, programmatic and user communities, supporting modernization, capability development, integration and test of an Army command and control system Current DoD Secret clearance Seniority level
