Your United journey begins with the best Flight Attendant training in the industry. You will spend 6.5 weeks attending Initial Training in Houston, TX. Here you will learn United’s safety and service standards. During training, you will be assigned your base in one of our seven hubs in Chicago, Denver, Houston, Los Angeles, Newark, San Francisco, Washington Dulles, or other flight attendant base locations (relocation funds not provided). Following the successful completion of training and after attending base orientation in your assigned location, you will be officially welcomed as a full-time United employee. While in training, United provides a stipend of $140 per week, along with dual occupancy hotel accommodations, breakfast, and either lunch or dinner (dependent on your training schedule).

Qualifications and Requirements
21 years of age or older at time of application.
High school graduate or GED; 2 or more years of college preferred.
At least one year of customer service experience in the service industry (such as retail, hospitality, food, teaching/education, aviation, social service).
Must be able to speak in a clear, concise, and organized manner, loudly enough to be heard in an emergency.
Ability to speak, read, write, and understand English fluently.
Must be able to read and speak Hebrew fluently.
Ability to hear all types and ranges of sound.
Effectively communicate in high-stress situations such as aircraft evacuation, security threats, delays, medical emergencies, severe weather, and turbulence.
Professional appearance, grooming standards, and willingness to follow uniform, hair, tattoo, and piercing guidelines.
Tattoos are not permitted on the head, hands, or neck. Visible tattoos may be allowed on arms, wrists, legs, and feet with size and content restrictions.
Decorative covers, adornments and/or jewelry on teeth or in the mouth are not permitted.
Ability to operate electronic devices (phones, tablets, laptops) for required tasks.
Must possess a valid passport prior to application with 18 months validity remaining; current passport book or foreign passport with applicable visas and travel eligibility.
Ability to travel to and from all countries United serves without restrictions.
Ability to stand, walk, kneel, bend, stretch, reach, lift heavy objects (up to 250 lbs), and push/pull a beverage cart.
Pass a functional reach assessment and wear a jump seat with safety equipment fastened.
Must be willing and able to work a flexible schedule for United’s 24/7 operation (weekdays, weekends, holidays, etc.).
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
Onboarding, Training, and What You Receive
Flight attendant trainees must complete an evacuation drill in water during training.
Willingness to complete pre-employment DOT drug screen, comprehensive background checks, fingerprinting, and vision/hearing tests.
Must pass DOT/FAA pre-employment and randomized drug screens. Medical and recreational marijuana is prohibited due to safety-sensitive nature.
Must pass a 10-year background check; background must not prohibit travel to or from anywhere United flies.
Meeting FAA and United hearing/vision requirements, including specified vision standards.
