Overview

Network Administrator & System Architect role at Paralyzed Veterans of America (PVA). This in-office position requires residency in the DC/MD/VA area and supports the IT infrastructure for PVA’s leadership, staff, and service offices. Compensation

Base pay range: $80,000.00/yr - $100,000.00/yr Location & Employment Type

Must reside in the DC/MD/VA area: this is a full-time in-office position. Employment type: Full-time Responsibilities

Serve as an IT network architect and manager for PVA’s data centers and networks (WAN/LAN/SAN), including physical, virtual, and cloud infrastructure assets. Maintain, evaluate, test, and implement ongoing enhancements of IT infrastructure including hardware and software assets (network OS, switches, routers, storage, servers, virtualization, applications, backups, web servers, firewalls, cloud applications and systems). Establish and maintain system security for PVA networks, applications, internet access, and managed endpoints. Establish and maintain data protection, backup, and recovery schemes for IT assets in data centers and cloud assets. Perform IT infrastructure capacity planning and implementation. Develop end-user and technical documentation for the PVA WAN/LAN and provide technical training for IT staff as needed. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications

Undergraduate degree in computer science or related IT discipline preferred. 2-3 years of experience administering a complex Linux/Microsoft/vSphere network and VoIP phone systems. 2-3 years of experience managing routers, switches, and appliances by Juniper, Cisco, Riverbed, and Palo Alto Networks. In-depth knowledge of network architectures, operating systems, protocols, security methods, and models. Understanding of Windows and Mac OS workstations. Familiarity with enterprise databases such as Oracle, MS SQL. Certifications: JNCIA-Junos, VCAP, LPIC-2 or LPIC-3, Microsoft 365 Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate, Microsoft 365 Certified: Messaging Administrator Associate, AWS Certified SysOps Administrator – Associate, GIAC Security Essentials.
