Join Peraton in advancing the safety, efficiency, and modernization of the National Airspace System (NAS) through the FAA's BNATCS contract. We are seeking a Security Architect to lead the design of security architectures and ensure modernization solutions meet FAA cybersecurity requirements, RMF, and Zero Trust objectives. This role offers an opportunity to influence large-scale modernization efforts supporting safe and efficient airspace operations. In this position you will

Lead the design and implementation of enterprise security architectures for FAA modernization projects. Ensure all modernization solutions align with FAA cybersecurity requirements, RMF, and Zero Trust principles. Develop security standards, patterns, and reference architectures that guide system development and integration. Collaborate with program managers, engineers, and stakeholders to embed security into every stage of the solution lifecycle. Conduct threat modeling, risk assessments, and gap analyses to identify and mitigate vulnerabilities. Evaluate and recommend security technologies and tools to enhance defense-in-depth strategies. Oversee compliance with federal and industry regulations, including FISMA, NIST SP 800-series, and related FAA directives. Provide mentorship and guidance to engineers and developers to foster a security-first culture. Support incident response planning and ensure architectures facilitate rapid detection and recovery. Basic Qualifications

U.S. Citizenship Required. Must have the ability to obtain / maintain a Public Trust clearance. Bachelor's degree and 8 years of experience or Associate's degree and 10 years experience or HS diploma/equivalent and 12 years experience. Proven experience in cybersecurity architecture, engineering, or related roles. Proven expertise with cybersecurity policies, RMF processes, and Zero Trust strategies. Strong knowledge of cloud security, network security, and identity/access management solutions. Experience with NIST SP 800-53, FIPS, FISMA, and other federal security standards. Ability to translate complex security requirements into practical, scalable solutions. Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills. Preferred Qualifications

Exposure to FAA programs or NAS systems. Industry certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CCSP, or SABSA. Experience designing security architectures for federal aviation systems or other critical infrastructure environments. Familiarity with cloud service providers (AWS, Azure, GCP) and their FAA-compliant security capabilities. Background in incident response, penetration testing, or red/blue team exercises. Salary and benefits

Target Salary Range: $104,000 - $166,000. Salary is determined by factors including scope of role, experience, education, knowledge, skills, competencies, geographic location, and contract considerations. Depending on the position, overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus may apply. EEO
