About The Position

Director in Acquisition Finance (AF) Coverage, Americas focused on winning business with leveraged corporate and sponsor clients

Responsibilities for US based AF team provide leveraged finance origination and execution expertise, including comprehensive review of capital structure public and private clients

Actively contributes to the development and implementation of the overall Acquisition Finance and Capital Markets and Advisory (CMA) business and ING business principles, including ING’s Orange Code

About The Department

The Acquisition Finance Coverage team has primary responsibility for the origination and execution of leveraged finance transactions, including LBO financing for US-based acquisition targets and other corporate or private equity related transactions

It acts as the key liaison partner for sponsor capital markets teams and, in close cooperation with the Financial Sponsor Group, has coverage responsibilities for ING Americas’ priority private equity sponsors

The team also works with the Sector organization on acquisition and leveraged capital markets activities in the corporate arena. This team is focused on becoming a trusted advisor to drive leveraged capital markets deal flow (including our sustainability agenda) to ING

Responsibilities

Strengthen and deepen relationships with private equity sponsors and leveraged corporates

Win leveraged finance mandates and cross-sells ING products

Work closely with other CMA teams, the Sector organization and other product groups to optimize idea generation and deliver value-added service to our priority clients

Maintain market relevance — keep up to date on market developments to ensure ING is competitively positioned

Work with Loan Capital Markets, High Yield Capital Markets, Financial Markets, and Transaction Advisory & Approval to ensure proper mitigation of market and credit risk for all transactions

Direct the execution and closing of new LBO financings booked in Acquisition Finance Americas – this includes all pre-closing processes: greenlight committees, credit approvals, legal documentation and sell down to approved hold targets

Coordinate with the Acquisition Finance Asset Management team on private equity owned borrowers within the portfolio for ongoing risk management and client coverage

Mentor, guide, and help train junior team in leveraged finance activities

Ensure compliance with all internal policies and procedures

Qualifications And Competencies

5-10 years of experience as senior leveraged finance banker with deep relationship management experience

Existing network of senior level relationships at leveraged corporates and private equity firms

Good understanding of the US legal and regulatory environment

Expertise in the US capital markets including HY and leveraged loan syndications

Proven track record in large leveraged finance transactions

Advanced credit and Bloomberg skills. Advanced non-financial risk skills

Undergraduate degree, MBA preferred

Competencies

Compensation and Benefits Base Salary Range:

$275K – $325K
