Technical Field Advisor III (TFA) Steam Turbine Nuclear
role at GE Vernova. The TFA provides on-site technical direction to customer-owned utility and industrial power plants for their Turbine Generator Systems. The primary responsibility is to safely accomplish maintenance and repair of equipment used in power generation, reviewing plant engineering documents and P&IDs, troubleshooting plant systems and equipment, and directing resources to complete the work scope according to contractual requirements. You may be assigned other duties to help proactively drive our Steam Power vision and align with the organization’s core values.

Essential Responsibilities
Fulfill contract responsibilities for designated and qualified skill sets (Turbine Mechanical, Generator)
Direct and oversee repair or inspection procedures utilizing the latest electronic communication, references and documentation technologies
Recognize, predict and document potential failures and provide future outage recommendations
Work with prints/print reading, including manufacturing drawings, P&IDs and schematic drawings
Participate as a Service Team member dedicated to Safety metrics
Pre-outage planning; possibly recommending and administering policies and procedures
Lead execution and oversight of projects within the TFA core competency
Execute project management and technical leader duties
Support warranty administration
Troubleshoot and problem solve with engineering support to resolve customer issues
Perform other duties as assigned
Support business needs when not on field assignment
Willingness and ability to travel as required by field assignments
Ability and willingness to work holidays, weekends and overtime as required by field assignments
Required Qualifications
Bachelors degree in STEM or related technical discipline from an accredited college or university, or a High School Diploma / GED with a minimum of 5 years of hands-on Steam Turbine experience
Desired Characteristics
Ability to support an outage and know where to seek answers; has experience with successful installations and outages
Experience and training on GE, Alstom, Siemens or other OEM equipment is preferred
Professional demeanor in managing customer relationships and effective handling of technical and contractual matters
Ability to oversee outage tasks/scopes/small teams; adherence to GE QA and EHS policies
Strong analytic, problem-solving and computer skills
Excellent communication, organization, and leadership abilities; strong business acumen
Special consideration for applicants from Fieldcore
Eligibility Requirements
English proficiency required
Extensive travel to and from projects and field assignments (approximately 80% travel)
Ability to obtain unescorted security clearance at nuclear power facilities
Willingness to work holidays, weekends, and overtime as required
Valid Driver’s License and passport
Ability to climb ladders/scaffolding, work in hot environments, and lift 25 lbs
Meet core competency Level III skill requirements and complete required training programs
Benefits and Additional Information Salary range: $78,800 to $131,200 USD annual. The offer may be influenced by experience, education, and work location. Eligible for a 10% performance bonus. Geographic differential may apply (110%, 120%, or 130% of salary in certain areas).
