Seeking a US licensed attorney for 20 to 30 hours per week to represent individuals and families applying before USCIS for affirmative immigration benefits such as permanent residency and naturalization. The position will be primarily remote with approximately two USCIS interview representations per month at USCIS offices in San Jose and San Francisco, California. The position will start on a contract basis and move to part-time W2 status after a brief trial period. Salary is $45 to $50 per hour, dependent on experience.Personal fit and long-term commitment is important to our small firm. Our vibe is informal, but our work is efficient and meticulous. Applicants who provide a cover letter explaining why they are a good fit are preferred. The ideal candidatewillhaveat least 2 years of family based immigration experience and at least 1 year of deportation defense experience. Primary responsibilities: Take ownership of and responsibility for an individual caseload Oversee and manage paralegals/case managers to ensure a smooth and efficient process for each client Prepare and file family-based immigration applications and petitions with USCIS and the Department of State Prepare and file naturalization applicationswith USCIS Prepare and file occasional humanitarian-based visa applications and petitions with USCIS Guide clients through the entire immigration process, from initial consultation to approval of a benefit Prepare clients for and occasionally represent them at USCIS interviews in San Francisco and San Jose California Use case management system, firm tools and organizational skills to ensure that legal and client-relations deadlines are met US state bar license 2+ years of family-based adjustment of status and consular processing and naturalization experience handling cases from initiation to filing and beyond 1+ years of deportation defense experience
