Overview
Regional Director National Accounts, Neurology/Urology - East. The Regional Director will direct the sales strategy, planning, and execution for a field-based team of National Account Directors by driving short-term sales targets and long-term goals. This role also develops AbbVie's image as a market leader and solution-provider across the stakeholder base and engages executive-level physician groups as approved by OEC and legal.
Responsibilities
Set leadership direction and co-establish vision for the business.
Identify key strategic accounts suitable for National Account Directors to nurture.
Co-develop short‑term and multi-year growth plans to anticipate market trends and stakeholder needs.
Identify key KPIs and manage financial and business performance, including revenue and resource targets.
Deliver accountable results and assist colleagues in achieving theirs.
Provide clear, courageous thought leadership to grow the business.
Create space and strategies for teams to pursue incremental and exponential innovation.
Develop succession plans and guide leaders with a cross-functional mindset.
Coach National Account Directors to:
Coordinate AbbVie interactions across multiple stakeholders
Elevate accounts’ standards of care and patient outcomes
Communicate the Therapeutic Value Proposition through approved data
Shift conversations from cost to value
Anticipate challenges and develop proactive solutions
Manage total account management for National Health Plans, PBMs, GPOs, LTC, and Federal customers, including formulary access, rebate and discount contracting, pull-through sales, data agreements, persistency and compliance programs, and relationship building.
Ensure timely and accurate internal communication.
Collaborate with Pricing Dept and senior leadership on divisional contracting strategies.
Identify and pursue business development opportunities within client accounts for US Commercial Products.
Qualifications
10+ years of pharmaceutical/biotech sales experience in progressive leadership roles with a proven track record of leading teams.
Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.
Demonstrated consulting skills and knowledge of field sales dynamics and selling models.
Understanding of health care compliance regulations.
Comprehensive knowledge of customers and competitive markets.

Compensation and Benefits The base pay range is $156,000.00/yr – $296,500.00/yr. AbbVie provides a comprehensive benefits package including paid time off, medical/dental/vision insurance, 401(k), and eligibility for short- and long-term incentive programs. The compensation range described reflects the Company’s current good-faith belief about pay for the role at posting time and may be modified in the future. Individual compensation depends on location, experience, and other factors.
