Affirm is reinventing credit to make it more honest and friendly, giving consumers the flexibility to buy now and pay later without any hidden fees or compounding interest. Affirm's Money Movement Engineering team is hiring a Software Engineer II. In this role you will be part of a group of engineers responsible for ensuring that payments to our merchants happen correctly and on-time. We work with large amounts of data in an entirely backend codebase to automate the processing that runs daily. What You'll Do

With support from your team’s tech lead and manager, break down larger projects into individual tasks, deliver them in multiple phases, and collaborate with others to ensure timely delivery. Support peers and stakeholders in the product development lifecycle by collaborating with product management, design, and analytics; participate in ideation, articulate technical constraints, and partner on decisions that consider risks and trade-offs. Support the operations and availability of team artifacts by creating and monitoring metrics, escalating when needed, and contributing to on-call efforts. Contribute to team culture and growth by engaging in activities such as participation in the interview process. What We Look For

Total of 1.5+ years of experience as a software engineer. Experience designing, developing, and launching backend systems; proficient in Kotlin or similar languages. Familiarity with distributed systems, and technologies such as AWS, MySQL, Kubernetes, Snowflake, and Airflow. Ability to translate a simple problem or business scenario into a solution that interacts with multiple software components; write clear, well-tested, extensible code. Comfort navigating a large codebase, debugging others' code, and providing feedback through code reviews. Ownership of personal growth; proactively seek feedback from team, manager, and stakeholders. Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration with a global engineering team. This position requires either equivalent practical experience or a Bachelor’s degree in a related field. Base Pay Grade

- 6 Base pay is part of a total compensation package that may include equity rewards, stipends for health, wellness and tech spending, and benefits (including 100% subsidized medical coverage, dental and vision for you and your dependents). USA base pay range (CA, WA, NY, NJ, CT) per year:

$160,000 - $210,000 USA base pay range (all other U.S. states) per year:

$142,000 - $192,000 Affirm is a remote-first company. Most roles are remote; some roles may require occasional work from an Affirm office depending on responsibilities. Benefits
