Dentist . This position is located in the Department of Dental, Dental Service, Albany Stratton VA Medical Center, and supports the Network 2 Mission to care for our Veterans with compassion and excellence. This role provides direct patient care and dental services, with teaching and resident supervision within the Dentistry Section. Responsibilities

Provide direct dental care to qualified patients in an outpatient setting and serve as a consultant to other healthcare providers in accordance with VHA Office of Dentistry Standard of Care. Perform duties in Preventive and Restorative Dentistry (examinations and diagnoses, preventive interventions, restoration of decayed or fractured teeth, post & core and build-up). Prosthodontics: removable prosthodontics (including partial and full dentures), fixed partial dentures and crowns, and implant-supported prostheses. Periodontics: non-surgical and surgical periodontics, including osseous surgery and grafting interventions as appropriate to clinical skill and experience. Endodontics: urgent endodontics and definitive endodontic treatment. Oral Surgery: uncomplicated exodontia and uncomplicated oral surgery procedures as indicated. Maintain professional qualifications, attend required training, and participate in clinical, educational, and administrative committees as assigned. Supervise dental residents and provide education, training, and mentoring. Qualifications

U.S. Citizenship; non-citizens may be appointed when qualified citizens cannot be recruited in accordance with VA policy. Education: Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) from an accredited school; completed or eligible for licensure in a U.S. state or territory. Licensure/Registration: Current, full, and unrestricted license to practice dentistry in a U.S. state or territory, or in the District of Columbia; maintain licensure as required. Residency Training: Completion of an approved residency program in general practice or specialty, or comparable experience treating medically compromised patients. English Language Proficiency: Proficient in spoken and written English. Preferred Experience: CODA-accredited residency in general practice or specialty, or equivalent experience with medically compromised patients. Work Schedule

Monday – Friday, 8:00 am – 4:30 pm Benefits and Other Information
