Role Overview

With ambitious plans to reach $2B in revenue and service multiple international markets by 2027, we\'re rapidly scaling our manufacturing capabilities—and automation is central to this growth strategy. We are looking for a Senior Director of Manufacturing Automation to own and set the global strategy for Dandy's manufacturing automation organization across multiple sites and international markets. This role will define the automation vision, oversee deployment and optimization of cutting-edge technologies, and lead through Directors, Sr. Managers, and high-level ICs. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker and hands-on leader who thrives at the intersection of engineering, operations, and R&D, with the ability to deliver scalable automation solutions that drive efficiency and quality and enable Dandy’s global expansion. Key Responsibilities
Automation Strategy & Deployment
Set and steer Dandy\'s automation vision, strategy, and roadmap to align with enterprise business goals and multi-year global expansion plans. Partner with AME on the design, validation, and commissioning of new automation equipment and systems across a network of domestic and international manufacturing sites. Establish governance and oversight for factory and site acceptance testing (FAT/SAT), validation protocols, and risk assessments. Ensure enterprise-level integration of new technologies into production with minimal disruption to operations. Leadership
Lead through Directors, Sr. Managers, and high-level technical experts to build and scale a world-class global automation organization. Serve as the technical authority for automation systems, controls, and integration architecture. Establish best practices for system reliability, lifecycle management, and safety compliance that can scale across international facilities. Continuous Improvement & Maintenance
Partner with operations and maintenance teams to ensure optimal performance of automation systems. Implement predictive and preventive maintenance strategies to improve system uptime and production yield. Use data analytics and root cause analysis to drive continuous improvement and long-term system performance across sites. Cross-Functional Collaboration
Build and sustain high-impact partnerships with Manufacturing, R&D, Product Development, and Supply Chain to align on design-for-automation principles. Partner with Operations, Engineering/Product/Design (EPD), and Data teams to transform and launch a Manufacturing Execution System (MES) that provides systemic oversight, assignment, and production planning across sites. Collaborate with the Quality team to ensure automation systems and processes meet regulatory requirements, and directly support ISO certification and ongoing compliance. Support the development of scalable processes that enable product and production innovation. Influence and drive strategic automation adoption across multiple functions, ensuring automation is embedded into enterprise decision-making. Oversee enterprise-wide automation performance metrics and outcomes. Qualifications
15+ years of experience in automation engineering, controls, or industrial systems, including at least 7-10 years of management experience. Strong background in the validation and commissioning of automation equipment in regulated environments. Experience shaping automation strategy and leading cross-functional global initiatives. Proven success in driving system reliability, efficiency, and integration in a high-growth manufacturing environment. Familiarity with SCADA, PLC programming, and industrial control systems. Excellent problem-solving and communication skills with the ability to influence and align multiple executive stakeholders and business units. Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field. Experience in dental, medical devices, or high-precision manufacturing is a plus. Travel:
