Team Overview Klaviyo operates a real-time data analytics platform coded primarily in Python that is built for massive scale and hosted on Amazon Web Services (AWS). The teams in the Data Platform area work with large scale distributed systems and databases to power core Klaviyo functionality and generate data-driven insights. As an engineering manager in this area, you will be responsible for leading a team to design, build, and maintain systems that support other engineering teams and departments across Klaviyo.

How You\'ll Make a Difference
You will be responsible for leading and managing a team of 8-10 engineers to deliver high impact work.
Responsible for coaching engineers, managing/reviewing technical documentation, and articulating a phased approach to achieving the team\'s overall technical vision.
Be responsible for the mission, technical direction, and operations of projects that have immediate impact.
Owning the systems that make our data discoverable and usable to power features that 50,000+ customers rely on daily to reach 4B+ consumers to drive their business forward.
Partnering with teams across the company to help them manage and leverage petabytes of data.
Who You Are
BA or BS Degree in Computer Science, related field, or equivalent experience
8+ years of software engineering in a DevOps environment with specific experience in data processing systems.
3+ years of people management experience
Experience writing code using best practices in a language such as Python, Java, Go, etc.
Experience designing, building, and operating reliable, fault-tolerant, and high performance distributed systems
Proven ability to come up to speed quickly
You\u2019ve already experimented with AI in work or personal projects, and you\u2019re excited to dive in and learn fast. You\u2019re hungry to responsibly explore new AI tools and workflows, finding ways to make your work smarter and more efficient.
