Quality Assurance Specialist III — Location: Los Angeles, CA
Base pay range: $113,000.00/yr - $120,000.00/yr
Position Overview:
The Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) Specialist III supports the QA/QC Department in implementing and monitoring Standard Operating Procedures, applying best practices, and contributing to performance metrics for the BuildLACCD program. This role provides technical and administrative support to ensure program activities align with SOPs, best practices, and continual improvement initiatives. Key responsibilities include assisting with compliance tracking, field observations, and documentation, and supporting day-to-day operations through word and Excel processing, meeting minutes, preparation of spreadsheets and presentations, tracking timelines and responsibilities, database management, coordination with multiple departments, and providing technical assistance for special projects. The position helps maintain accurate records, facilitate oversight and performance assessments, and ensure timely, high-quality project delivery.
Minimum Required Qualifications:
5 years of Administrative support experience
A 4-Year College Degree
Excellent communication skills
Organization and information management
Experience with meeting minutes, spreadsheets, document organization, and electronic filing
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Adobe PDF
Strong organizational, interpersonal, poise, tact, and diplomacy
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with good multitasking skills
Preferred Qualifications:
Quality Assurance/Quality Control experience
Architectural and Construction background
Audit experience
Position Description:
The QA/QC Specialist III provides technical and administrative support to implement quality assurance and quality control practices across the BuildLACCD program. Under the supervision of the QA/QC Manager, responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
QA/QC and Program Support
Monitor compliance with SOPs, document best practices, and contribute to performance metrics
Assist in verifying SOP requirements and gathering required information
Analyze QA/QC processes to identify gaps and support corrective actions
Provide technical assistance for program assessments and Lessons Learned processes, including maintaining related databases
Perform field observation documentation, non-conformance tracking, and follow-up with departments on QA/QC matters
Lead ongoing SOPs, best practices, and performance metrics workshops
Handle sensitive or confidential project and audit information with discretion
Demonstrate diplomacy when following up on compliance issues or non-conformance documentation
Reporting and Documentation: assist in monthly, quarterly, semi-annual, and annual reports for internal use, bond oversight, and performance audits
Input, track, and maintain reports and logs for accuracy
Maintain QA/QC documentation, including databases and electronic filing
Ensure required information is tracked and kept current
Administrative and Coordination Functions: provide general and technical support to the QA/QC Department
Interact professionally with project managers, contractors, inspectors, and other District departments
Prepare accurate meeting agendas and minutes, and distribute materials
Develop spreadsheets, presentations, and tools to support QA/QC operations
Coordinate QA/QC matters with project managers, design professionals, contractors, audit groups, and other District departments
Support materials for executive teams, auditors, and other stakeholders
Provide support for special projects and technical assignments as directed
Perform other duties as assigned to ensure successful delivery of QA/QC objectives
