Senior Accountant – DB Tax & Accounting (DBTA), Chicago
About DB Tax & Accounting (DBTA) DBTA is a full-service accounting firm that specializes in the needs of the Private Client. Our clients include ultra-high net worth and new wealth individuals (business owners, athletes, and entertainers). The taxation practice of DBTA includes preparation for the following tax returns: Trust, Corporate, Individual, Estate & Gift, Captive Insurance, Partnership, Private Foundation, and International.
Job Summary We are seeking a motivated and experienced Senior Accountant to join our growing team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of client accounts, from daily transactions and month-end close processes to tax preparation and special projects. The ideal candidate possesses strong technical skills, excellent communication, and a commitment to delivering exceptional client service.
Responsibilities
Client Service:
Develop a thorough understanding of each client's business operations and financial goals.
Effectively manage multiple client accounts simultaneously, utilizing various accounting software and chart of accounts structures.
Build and maintain strong client relationships through proactive communication and exceptional service.
Day-to-Day Transactions:
Oversee and process accounts payable, cash disbursements, accounts receivable, cash receipts, and payroll transactions.
Ensure the accuracy and timeliness of all financial transactions.
Month-End Processing:
Perform account reconciliations, including bank reconciliations, prepaid expenses, accounts receivable, fixed assets, accounts payable, and accruals.
Prepare and review financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
Analyze financial data and provide insightful reports to clients.
Quarterly/Annual Processing:
Prepare and file sales tax returns and Form 1099s.
Assist in the preparation of audit workpapers, tax return workpapers, and other required documentation.
Special Projects:
Contribute to internal audit projects, due diligence reviews, system selections, and other consulting engagements as needed.
Identify opportunities to improve processes and enhance efficiency.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.
Minimum of 2 years of relevant accounting experience in public accounting or a similar environment.
Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
CPA certification is a plus.
