Job Summary
The
Director, Sysco Brand Portfolio Assortment
creates a strategy for our brand’s portfolio based on analysis, market and category insights as well as managing to the business priorities. This position is responsible for making informed decisions specific to our existing portfolio that take into consideration the unique aspects of the communities in which we do business and the customers we serve, while collaborating with internal business partners. This role is also responsible for innovation and new product development, creating newness in an already vast and diverse product assortment. Duties and Responsibilities
In partnership with the VP of Branding and Sr Director of Brand Strategy, develop an assortment strategy across entire Sysco brand portfolio, leveraging existing and creating new tools required to support the work Synthesize assortment across brands and tiers ensuring consistency and minimizing duplication where possible, ensuring positive P&L outcomes while meeting customer expectations Partner with local and commercial merchandising teams – ensuring market, operating sites, category and supplier inputs are considered where relevant Develop & implement an innovation roadmap equating to differentiation + incremental growth within the portfolio Responsible for defining item lifecycle management process to ensure disciplined approaches including new introductions and thoughtful retirement process Education Required
Bachelor’s required Education Preferred
MBA preferred Experience Required
8-10+ years branding marketing strategy experience with proven ability working in a highly matrixed organization Experience Preferred

Proven ability to establish credibility and influence executive-level stakeholders as well as the ability to work across boundaries and lead through influence Leader/doer with the ability to operate effectively and influence others in a matrix organization Self-starter with a strong ability to lead and develop a new team Experience in a startup-like environment and ability to foresee the needs of the organization, plan accordingly and direct the team to achieve quick wins and long term success Professional attitude, service orientation, strong work ethic; superb team player Excels in nebulous environments where the path to address a problem is not always clear or direct Approaches every problem with an outside-in perspective first and does not allow the status quo to influence your analysis Strong interpersonal, leadership, communication, and presentation skills Strong understanding of finance, pricing, supply chain management, and operations Strong project leadership and management background Excellent analytic and problem-solving skills Experience using Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint Language Required
