Senior Consultant to support our Navy Medicine (BUMED) account . Specifically, this senior consultant will play a key role in advancing BUMED’s Integrated Risk Management (IRM) workstream. The senior consultant will be responsible for developing training materials to support risk management awareness, performing ICOR-O and ICOR-F internal control testing procedures, documenting results, and preparing final testing reports. The role will also include developing executive-level briefings for senior leaders, providing recommendations based on testing outcomes, and supporting corrective action tracking to closure. The consultant will collaborate with BUMED stakeholders to ensure compliance with federal internal control requirements, enhance risk management practices, and improve audit readiness. Responsibilities will also include analyzing existing internal controls and risk processes and providing recommendations to strengthen BUMED’s IRM framework. This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to translate technical testing results into actionable recommendations for both working-level staff and senior leadership. Responsibilities

Develop training materials to support risk management awareness. Perform ICOR-O and ICOR-F internal control testing procedures. Document testing results and prepare final testing reports. Develop executive-level briefings for senior leaders and provide recommendations based on testing outcomes. Support corrective action tracking to closure. Collaborate with BUMED stakeholders to ensure compliance with federal internal control requirements and improve audit readiness. Analyze existing internal controls and risk processes; provide recommendations to strengthen IRM framework. Translate technical testing results into actionable recommendations for both working-level staff and senior leadership. Required Skills

3-5 years federal or commercial experience in management consulting and business process improvement (BPI) and internal controls related activities. 3-5 years experience with technical and/or professional writing, including independent background research, structuring written work products, and presenting approaches or recommendations. 3-5 years experience developing reports, briefing materials, and training in Microsoft PowerPoint; coordinating with stakeholders and developing visualizations/graphs to highlight key data. Experience supporting meeting facilitation and scheduling. Proficiency in project management: managing tasks to meet milestones, providing progress/status updates, and researching topics to build knowledge. 3-5 years professional experience working in teams with strong interpersonal, team-building, critical thinking, analytical and problem-solving skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Teams, Visio). Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment. Willingness to perform a broad range of tasks from high-level strategy creation to administrative duties (e.g., capturing meeting minutes and attendee lists). Willingness to travel up to 25%. Located in the National Capital Region (NCR). Active DoD Secret (or Interim) Clearance or ability to obtain and maintain clearance. Desired Skills

Experience providing management support and guidance to DoD or Federal agencies around communications, operations, and processes. Experience performing internal control testing (Test of Design/Test of Effectiveness). Experience participating in one-on-one and/or small group meetings to gather information, build content, and gain feedback, consensus, and approval from stakeholders, both internal and external. Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., pivot tables) and software (Tableau, Power BI). Experience with SharePoint or other document repositories. $100,000 - $115,000 a year At Significance, your base pay is one part of your total compensation package and is determined within a range based on local cost of labor benchmarks for each specific role, level, and geographic location. We carefully consider a wide range of factors when determining compensation, including but not limited to experience; job-related skill sets; relevant education or training; and other business and organizational needs. The salary range listed is for the level at which this job has been scoped. If a different level is considered, a higher or lower pay range would apply.
