These teams provide the financial fuel that keeps our operation running from providing detailed analyses of financial planning, performance, and forecasts to managing our investments and financial strategies. Our Finance team plays an integral role in making our airline profitable and successful by meeting our financial goals.
Responsibilities The Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) department is responsible for overseeing United's budget and forecast, long-term business plan, capital plan and financial analysis. FP&A acts as a challenging business partner, working closely with each organization at United to provide financial and strategic support.
All senior analysts within the broader FP&A organization will gain in-depth exposure and experience in the airline industry, with assignments that may include:
Developing department-level and enterprise-wide annual and long-term budgets
Developing the annual capital plan and analytical support for capital investment decisions
Performing complex analyses, such as evaluating labor productivity or growth opportunities
Analyzing cost trends and resource utilization and developing relevant performance metrics
Developing profitability and cash flow forecasts
Qualifications What’s needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications):
Candidate for master's degree in Business Administration (MBA) graduating in Winter 2025 or Spring 2026
Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related area of study
Minimum 3 years of analytical work experience demonstrating increasing responsibility
Proficient in Microsoft Office programs, specifically Excel and PowerPoint
Track record of outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills
Proven ability to prioritize a range of responsibilities and adapt as business problems change
Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work well with others
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship
Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification
Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position
