Overview

We are seeking a

Senior Mechanical Engineer

to join the

Valves & Fluid Systems team

of a next-generation

space launch provider . In this high-impact role, you’ll

own the design, development, and qualification

of flight-critical fluid system components—including

high-pressure valves, actuators, cryogenic plumbing, and quick-disconnects —from concept through flight. This is a

hands-on, high-accountability engineering position

where you’ll collaborate with technicians, test engineers, and manufacturing teams to deliver hardware that meets mission-critical deadlines. You’ll also shape best practices, mentor junior engineers, and drive continuous improvement in a fast-paced aerospace environment. What You’ll Do

Own mechanical design for valves, actuators, and fluid system hardware Perform structural, thermal, and tolerance analyses to validate designs Lead hardware development from prototype to hot-fire and environmental testing Drive root-cause investigations and corrective actions for test/production issues Collaborate with propulsion, test, and structures teams for seamless integration Deliver complete engineering documentation to support build & test operations Mentor and guide junior engineers, shaping design standards and team practices What You Bring

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or related engineering discipline 4+ years’ experience in

aerospace, defense, or high-reliability industries Proven track record of taking hardware from

concept through flight/production Proficiency in

CAD

(NX, SolidWorks, etc.) and strong

GD&T fundamentals Solid background in

FEA, structural, and thermal simulations Deep understanding of

manufacturing processes

(machining, welding, brazing, heat treating) Hands-on mindset—comfortable assembling, debugging, and collaborating with technicians Strong communication skills and a

team-first mindset Preferred Skills

Experience with

high-pressure systems (6000+ psi)

or

cryogenics (LOX, RP-1) Background in complex mechanisms (actuators, safe & arm devices, etc.) Familiarity with

NASA, ASME, or MIL standards Startup/early-stage aerospace experience in fast-paced environments Leadership in failure investigations and corrective action plans Track record of mentoring engineers and leading cross-functional efforts Why Join Us?
