Full Time Manager, Senior Legal Counsel DSV is seeking a seasoned and proactive legal professional to join our Group Legal team as Manager, Senior Legal Counsel. This role will be pivotal in providing strategic legal guidance across our Air & Sea and Contract Logistics divisions in the U.S. and Canada. Reporting to the Head of Legal, North America, the successful candidate will manage complex legal matters, support senior leadership, and ensure compliance with regulatory and corporate standards.

Responsibilities

Legal Leadership & Strategy: Lead legal support for commercial operations, ensuring alignment with business goals and regulatory requirements.

Serve as the primary legal contact for high-impact matters across Air & Sea and Contract Logistics divisions.

Draft, review, and negotiate legal documents, including customer and vendor agreements related to air and ocean transportation services, NVOCC services, warehousing services, 3PL and 4PL services, ocean service contracts, truck brokerage and road transportation; real estate related documents including lease agreements; equipment financing agreements.

Actively manage all aspects of litigation and pre-litigation matters in an efficient, practical and cost-effective manner.

Advise executive and senior management in business matters to ensure operations are conducted in a legally compliant manner, identify risks and compliance issues and advise on necessary risk mitigation measures.

Support corporate compliance with internal policies, provide training to internal stakeholders.

Assist with corporate governance matters, including the preparation and maintenance of business entity documents, company formation, preparing resolutions and consents, and managing annual shareholder meetings.

Provide support for human resources on a range of labor and employment matters, including policy implementation and training.

Interface and partner with various Group functions and key stakeholders in the U.S. and globally.

Advise stakeholders on legal trends, developing areas of the law, industry trends and related risks that may impact the Company’s operations and/or services.

Qualifications

Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Licensed to practice law and in good standing in the relevant jurisdiction.

Minimum 5 years of legal experience, ideally in-house or with a law firm supporting corporate clients.

At least 2 years of managerial experience in a legal setting.

Strong background in logistics, transportation, and supply chain legal matters.

Proven ability to manage complex contracts and regulatory issues.

Excellent communication, negotiation, and strategic decision-making skills.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

High attention to detail and commitment to delivering quality work.

Desired Experience & Skills

Knowledge of regulatory matters relating to the logistics and transportation industry, including FMC regulations and compliance, global trade compliance, export controls, sanctions, export licensing, product diversion, deemed exports, anti-boycott laws, embargos, product classifications, global trade contract provisions, and customs matters; knowledge of US FCPA, UK Bribery Act, and other anti-bribery laws.

At least two years of managerial experience within an in-house legal department or at a law firm.

Educational Background / Work Experience: JD from an accredited law school; licensed to practice law in the appropriate state/jurisdiction.

Five years of legal experience, ideally with an in-house team or experience supporting in-house lawyers.

Experience in the maritime, logistics, supply chain and/or transportation industry.

Language Skills: English

Computer Literacy: Proficiency with Microsoft tools (Excel, Outlook, Word; PowerPoint, Teams).

Compensation & Benefits For this position, the expected base pay is: $169,000 - $212,000 / Annual. Actual base compensation will be determined based on various factors including job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations.
