Hydrogeologist - California at Black & Veatch. Employee-owned company focused on sustainable infrastructure and water resources. Role may include an 80/20 mix of field and office assignments with potential for full-time field work. This position supports groundwater and water resources projects, including data evaluation, permit applications, technical specifications, and report preparation. Key Responsibilities

Serve as an extension of the Water Supply and Hydrogeology Community of Practice to support team building, mentoring, and skill development in the western US. Lead aquifer well field studies, development projects, rehabilitation, and operational strategies to optimize water supplies using aquifer storage and recovery and managed aquifer recharge; support drought mitigation and saltwater intrusion barriers. Support integrated water supply assessments and alternative water supply planning and implementation efforts. Support scenario planning for integrated surface and groundwater management programs and natural systems restoration projects across the western US and other opportunities. Support technology assessments and implementation strategies addressing client groundwater/water resource needs to differentiate Black & Veatch. Support climate change resilience planning and implementation efforts. Support wastewater outfall closure programs, mine effluent management, and carbon sequestration planning through deep well injection projects. Preferred Qualifications

5-9 years of hydrogeological and water resource planning experience related to western US water challenges (groundwater management, water rights, desalination, aquifer storage and recovery, etc.). Bachelor of Science and/or Master of Science in Geology or Engineering Geology required. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work in the field in California and other US locations. Valid driver’s license. Self-starter with professional appearance, initiative, attention to detail, and strong writing and communication skills. Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; ArcGIS, AutoCAD, Microstation or similar tools preferred. Familiarity with groundwater modeling software (e.g., Groundwater Vistas, gINT, Visual Mitchell) is a plus. HAZWOPER and MSHA safety certifications preferred or interest in obtaining. Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Geoscience, Earth Science or Environmental Science; minimum of 2 years of experience. Certifications

Certified Hydrogeologist. Work Environment / Schedule

Hybrid or flexible work options may be offered after the first 90 days, based on manager discretion, performance, and assignments. Salary

Annual compensation range: $108,944.00 - $163,438.00. Company and Benefits
