Who we are looking for:

ACV Auctions is seeking an enthusiastic Inspector who has a knack for cars and wants to join a growing company. Inspectors are the face of our company, knowledgeable about cars, able to explain details clearly to clients, energetic, meticulous, and focused on trust, transparency, credibility, and customer service.

What you will do

Actively and consistently support all efforts to simplify and enhance the customer experience.

Partner with a Territory Manager and a team of Inspectors to inspect vehicles at dealerships, auctions, and off-lease locations to detect damage, missing parts and mechanical problems.

Prepare and submit a report of vehicle condition, repair/replacement cost estimates, and related documentation.

Assist the sales team with up-sell or cross-sell opportunities for services and products.

Interface with dealers to develop client satisfaction and build strong relationships.

Travel to and from dealerships and homes to inspect and write condition reports, and list vehicles to sell on the auction platform.

Take multiple photos (overall and damage) and upload them to the image server using the company-issued smartphone.

List inspected wholesale vehicles on ACV Auctions platform for bidding and purchasing.

Register independent dealerships as buyers to use ACV Auctions digital platform.

Perform additional duties as assigned.

What you will need

1 year of experience in the automobile field (body, paint and mechanical repair knowledge) with a customer service background

Ability to read, write, speak and understand English

Ability to work outside in the elements for extended periods

Problem-solving aptitude with resourcefulness and innovative approaches

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while collaborating in a team

Excellent communication to understand customer needs and expectations

Valid driver’s license and a validly registered and insured motor vehicle

Knowledge of system capabilities, relevant software packages, and web-based applications

Ability to perform manual labor: standing for extended periods, lifting up to 25 lbs or more, bending, and squatting

Ability to drive a manual and automatic transmission

Vision abilities to identify small defects around and underneath vehicles

Compensation Hourly range: $23.50 - $25.50 per hour. This position is eligible for additional compensation under ACV’s incentive plan. Final compensation will be determined based on experience, location, business needs, and other factors as permitted by law.
