Appian’s Customer Success team partners with federal customers to advise and assist them in designing and securing Appian-based solutions. We are looking for a Governance, Risk & Compliance (GRC) Security Analyst to assist federal customers in understanding and implementing cybersecurity strategies for their Appian deployments. This role contributes to the security authorization process and guides customers through the government’s IT security authorization process. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to start a career in cybersecurity, with training and mentorship provided to help you build the foundational knowledge and skills needed for long-term success. This role is based at our HQ in McLean, VA and involves in-person collaboration to foster a culture of teamwork. Responsibilities
Learn and apply RMF processes, including system categorization, security control selection, implementation, assessment, authorization, and continuous monitoring. Assist with Authorization to Operate (ATO) packages and understand the FedRAMP authorization process to ensure compliance with federal security standards. Collaborate with senior analysts to design and implement security solutions that meet federal requirements. Stay updated on federal cybersecurity policies and best practices to support the security authorization process. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Information Technology, or a related field Active Government Clearance (Secret and above) or ability to maintain an Active Secret-level clearance, with eligibility for work within cleared facilities (SCIF work may be required) Experience as an IT systems administrator building, maintaining, scripting, patching, and managing hosts, databases, and interconnected Cloud services (approximately 2+ years) Tools and Resources
