Physician / Emergency Medicine / Kentucky / Locum or Permanent / FCI McCreary (USP), Pine Knot, Kentucky. Place of Performance: The Physician Services will be performed in the Health Services Department at the Federal Correctional Institution, USP McCreary, Pine Knot, Kentucky. Schedule: The contractor will normally work 30 sessions per week. One session equals one hour. Typically, Monday through Friday (except Federal Holidays), normally between 7:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., with a 30-minute unpaid lunch period. The Contracting Officer’s Representative (COR) and the Health Services Administrator (HSA) will define the weekly schedule. Schedules are subject to change based on institutional needs, and any changes must be coordinated with the COR. Time recording: The contractor will record start and end times for each shift. The base period is 12 months from the estimated date of award, with four 12-month option periods. Important note: This description reflects staffing expectations for physician services within the Federal Bureau of Prisons system. Responsibilities

Provide urgent and emergency medical care as needed, with immediate response to all urgent/emergency situations. Respond to calls for help via radio or telephone notification. Collaborate with FCI Oxford clinical staff or other BOP personnel to access emergency locations and locked areas when necessary. Deliver medical services for acute and chronic problems among the general inmate population, those in the Special Housing Unit and the Wood Unit. Perform comprehensive history and physical examinations; review and sign diagnostic and consultative reports; provide clinical guidance to Advanced Practice Providers, Nurses, and EMTs. Recommend diagnostic testing and treatments in the electronic record (BEMR) for review by the Utilization Review Committee. Document accurately and thoroughly in the electronic medical record; complete data collection instruments by the end of the workday in accordance with medical staff bylaws and Bureau of Prisons policy. Adhere to BOP health services policies, clinical practice guidelines, and standards of the American Correctional Association Foundation/Core Standards for Adult Correctional Institutions. Ensure compliance with health services policies, complete histories and evaluations as scheduled, and monitor performance with the HSA and COR. Maintain open communication with the Clinical Director, HSA, and COR; schedule management rests with Health Services staff. Provide impartial access to treatment or accommodations as medically indicated, regardless of race, creed, sex, national origin, or religion. Qualifications and Requirements

Board-certified physician (or equivalent in Emergency Medicine) with eligibility to practice medicine in any U.S. state. Ability to provide verification of credentials and proof of malpractice insurance. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Contractor must submit photocopies of education, license, certification, and training documentation as part of the credentialing process. Health and Safety

Contractor must ensure employees are free of communicable diseases. If a medical condition develops that places others at risk, the contractor must replace personnel at no additional cost to the institution. End of description.
