Overview
Akron Children's Hospital is dedicated to building a diverse workforce and welcomes applicants at all career stages. Substantial capital investment and growth have created the need for additional Pediatric Emergency Medicine Physicians. The selected candidates will join our 25-plus PEM physician team who manage over 67,000 annual visits. The ED is state-of-the-art with 39 beds and is supported by a dedicated suture team, an embedded behavioral health unit, child life specialists, pediatric hospitalists, neonatologists, critical care, and pediatric surgery services. Akron Children's Hospital is the only pediatric hospital in northeast Ohio with its own helicopter and pediatric transport team. This position is a 501(c)(3) site which qualifies for Public Service Loan Forgiveness through the Federal government. Responsibilities
Provide high-quality pediatric emergency medicine care as part of a multidisciplinary PEM team. Collaborate with ED staff to deliver comprehensive patient care across the department. Participate in quality improvement, patient safety initiatives, and performance improvement activities. Engage in teaching and mentoring of residents and medical students as available. Qualifications
MD or DO degree. Board eligibility/certification in Pediatric Emergency Medicine. ACLS, ATLS, PALS certifications. Ability to obtain an active medical license in the state of Ohio. Compensation & Benefits
