Reporting to the Vice President, Information Technology, the Director, Information Technology will be responsible for the strategic management, oversight, and continuous improvement of IT infrastructure and operations within the organization. This leadership role requires both technical expertise and strong managerial skills to effectively collaborate across departments, ensuring optimal systems, networks, and security measures. The ideal candidate will have experience managing IT functions in a regulated environment (preferably in biotech or life sciences) and a strong ability to align IT operations with corporate objectives. This role is based in our Waltham, MA headquarters. Our office-based employees are required to work in the office three (3) days a week. Responsibilities

Lead the strategic management and continuous improvement of Viridian’s network, storage, security, and cloud infrastructure, ensuring high standards of reliability, availability, and performance Lead IT operations and infrastructure technical projects to ensure key corporate deliverables, including a successful and robust commercial launch Act as the lead network architect, strategically defining and implementing new Azure cloud capabilities to meet business requirements Oversee the configuration, deployment, and management of Microsoft 365 services, implementing best practices for security and compliance, and continuously monitoring and optimizing performance to meet the evolving needs of the organization Supervise the optimization of Intune policies and configurations to ensure a secure and efficient environment, while providing leadership and guidance to the IT team Cultivate and sustain strong vendor relationships, overseeing contract negotiation, performance management, and ensuring vendors meet agreed-upon service levels Drive continuous operational improvement and implement automation strategies to enhance overall efficiency and effectiveness of IT operations Generate capacity plans and budgets that meet the growth, scalability, and changing needs of the business, optimizing costs across cloud and on-premises infrastructure Develop, implement, and maintain IT policies and procedures based on industry-standard best practices, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and supporting the organization’s IT infrastructure needs Regularly communicate with stakeholders to provide updates on IT initiatives, gather feedback, and ensure alignment with business objectives Stay abreast of emerging technology trends and innovations, evaluating their potential impact on the organization and integrating relevant advancements into the IT strategy Foster a culture of continuous learning and professional development within the IT team, providing opportunities for skill enhancement and career growth Qualifications

Minimum of 12 years of IT Operations experience, with at least 5+ years in a leadership role in a biotech, life sciences, or regulated industry Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; Master’s degree or relevant certifications (e.g., PMP, ITIL) is preferred Hands-on experience with regulatory compliance (e.g., HIPAA, FDA, GxP) is a must Proven track record of aligning IT strategies with organizational goals, managing teams, and driving successful outcomes Extensive knowledge of IT operations, including cloud infrastructure, data management, security protocols, networking, and IT best practices Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively lead and collaborate across the organization Ability to work independently, drive results, and handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment Strong commitment to ethical standards Proficient with Microsoft Office suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint, etc.) Ability to travel up to 10% The salary range for this position is commensurate with experience Benefits
