Overview
IT Manager – Systems Administration, Security, and Compliance. This is a full-time, exempt position with a hybrid schedule at Montage’s Rockville, MD office and the employee’s home office. The role combines hands-on technology with strategic leadership to ensure the stability, security, and compliance of IT systems within a federal government contracting environment. Responsibilities
Systems Administration: Administer Windows Server, Active Directory, Azure AD, and Microsoft 365 environments; coordinate and administer IT platforms (1Password, JAMF, Intune, Unifi, Adobe Cloud, Druva, Cloudflare, Automox, O365, Box, Arctic Wolf, Drata, Snipe-IT, Wrike, SharpSpring, ZOOM). Monitor system performance, logs, and alerts to proactively address risks; oversee IT vendor programs including security reviews, contract renewals, and budget management. Manage office networks, devices, BYOD programs, ZOOM Phones, and wireless infrastructure to ensure uptime and patch/remediation status; oversee hardware lifecycle and warranty programs. Develop and maintain inventory controls for software, hardware, and vendors (using SNIPE-IT); collaborate with Human Resources for onboarding/offboarding. Helpdesk Support: Provide level 1-3 helpdesk support for all agency platforms, devices, and networks; ensure SLAs are met; document self-service solutions and troubleshooting steps. Knowledge Management: Build and maintain an organizational knowledge base; document IT policies and support processes; design trainings and standard operating procedures; develop IT content for newsletters and staff communications. IT Security Strategy & Compliance: Align IT initiatives with business objectives; develop and manage IT budgets (vendor, hardware, warranty); report on key metrics (ticket lifecycle, user adoption); plan for CMMC L2 and NIST 800-53 compliance; write and enforce security policies. Team Leadership: Coach and develop IT staff and contractors; model proactive communication; drive security awareness and continuous improvement; collaborate with senior leadership, external partners, and clients. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, computer engineering, or equivalent experience; advanced knowledge of IT. Minimum 10 years of IT operations/systems administration experience; proven leadership and vendor management experience. Experience with helpdesk escalation (level 1-3); proficiency across macOS, Windows, and common enterprise applications (Microsoft 365/Azure, ZOOM, Adobe Cloud). Government IT regulations knowledge (NIST 800-53, CMMC Level 2, FISMA); certifications in Microsoft and/or CompTIA, Apple CSP, CISSP; experience with NIST SP 800-53, FedRAMP, or CMMC work for government contractors; project management experience.
