Overview
Banner University Medical Group-Tucson and University of Arizona are seeking a Nuclear Medicine physician or fellowship-trained radiologist to join the Division of Nuclear Medicine and Theranostics Center. The appointment rank is commensurate with experience. Prospective candidates at Assistant, Associate, or full Professor levels will have an MD or DO degree, dedicated training in nuclear medicine including board certification by ABNM and/or ABR/NR with ABNM eligibility, and eligibility to become an Authorized User of Radioisotopes. The candidate will be eligible for licensure in the State of Arizona. The ideal applicant will have expertise in all aspects of Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging, including different PET tracers, radiopharmaceutical therapies and procedures, and will contribute to clinical and scientific initiatives within the department and the Banner University Health system and the University of Arizona College of Medicine-Tucson. The successful candidate should possess experience and passion in patient care, teaching and supervision of medical students, residents, and fellows, and the ability to work cooperatively within a diverse environment. The position emphasizes delivery of excellent patient care, advancement of the department\'s research mission, and the education of learners in innovative imaging practices. Responsibilities
Contribute to a strong academic division providing comprehensive clinical service with a focus on growth, value, and service. Participate in weekday clinical work and weekday/weekend call coverage while ensuring timely, high-quality clinical care. Collaborate with colleagues to improve service and quality for patients. Provide instruction for the Residency, Fellowship and Medical Student educational programs by preparing and delivering lectures and reviewing cases. Participate in interdisciplinary conferences and coordinate with other services on issues affecting Medical Imaging. Support innovative research and collaborate with clinical and translational researchers. Division and Theranostics Center
The Theranostics Center at Banner - University Medical Center and The University of Arizona - Tucson is designated as a Comprehensive Radiopharmaceutical Therapy Center of Excellence. Nuclear Medicine is offered at all three Tucson locations: BUMC-T, BUMC-S, and BUMC-N, with scanners including Siemens Bold and Intevo SPECT/CT, GE Discovery 640 SPECT/CT, Siemens Gamma Evo, two GE 530c\'s for dedicated cardiac imaging, and a GE Discovery MI Digital PET/CT, GE Omni Legend 32 cm PET CT. The division offers studies in oncology and advanced general nuclear medicine imaging including brain metabolism/perfusion, myocardial perfusion and gating, bone, liver, lung, GI, sentinel lymph node, and Dopamine transporter imaging. Pediatric imaging and Theranostic services including 131I, 223Ra, and 177Lu (FDA-approved tracers and research protocols); 90Y liver ablation therapies in conjunction with IR. Inter-divisional and inter-department collaborations and participation in tumor boards. Education for residents and medical students; dedicated nuclear medicine fellowship and participation in the dual DR/NM 4-year program. Collaborative and Research Opportunities

The Department of Medical Imaging is one of 17 clinical departments in the University of Arizona College of Medicine – Tucson, supporting Banner University Health. The department offers an ACGME-accredited Nuclear Radiology/PET-CT Fellowship Program for two candidates and supports Diagnostic and Interventional Radiology residencies and multiple fellowships. The department serves Banner University Medical Centers in Tucson, South, and North, as well as Diamond Children\'s Medical Center, and outpatient centers such as the Advanced Breast Imaging Center (ABIC).
