Our client, a Japanese Energy company, is looking for a senior leader to establish and grow a demand-side energy business (ESCO/DER). The role centers on business model innovation, strategic partnerships, and M&A, while expanding energy efficiency, distributed energy, and customer-focused solutions. Location:

Full-time Direct Hire Salary:
up to 200k DOE Key Responsibilities
Develop and optimize ESCO/DER strategies and offerings. Identify and execute M&A and partnership opportunities. Build sales capabilities and expand customer energy solutions. Integrate incentives and IRA programs into business models. Lead projects in efficiency, demand response, and VPP integration. Support deployment of distributed resources (solar, storage, EMS). Oversee measurement & verification (M&V) and contract performance. Collaborate with municipalities, utilities, and regulators. Launch new services such as Energy-as-a-Service (EaaS). Manage budgets, reporting, and team development. Qualifications
5-10 years in ESCO, energy services, or renewable/efficiency projects. Proven ability to manage full project lifecycles from proposal through M&V. Strong leadership and business development skills. Bachelor’s degree or higher in engineering, environmental studies, or business. Preferred: CEM, PMP, or LEED AP certifications; multinational collaboration experience.
