Location: Austin, TX. Schedule: PRN – Primarily night shift (7p-7a). Call Schedule: No call schedule. Practice Detail: >15 physicians supported, in a triage and floor setting. EMR System: Cerner/Compass. Hospital: Ascension Seton Medical Center Austin. Responsibilities

Manage induction and labor patients on the labor floor, ensuring inductions are started in a timely manner and managed appropriately. Manage labor patients and support physician residents as well as private practice OBs. See and evaluate patients in the OB Triage setting for labor, preterm labor, rupture of membranes, complications of pregnancy over 20 weeks, illness, injury, etc. Triages patients based on acuity and greatest need, supported by an on-call physician for private practice patients or the OB resident team. Cover postpartum rounding on low-risk patients alongside physician residents. Participate in teaching Dell Seton interns to triage patients quickly and effectively and assist in teaching interns how to deliver laboring patients. Position Highlights

Obtains patient history and performs assessment via observation, interview and examination. Orders, performs and interprets diagnostic studies. Performs preventative health assessments, screening, immunizations and patient care. Provides direct treatment and management of health conditions via referral to other healthcare providers or community resources. Counsels and educates patients and their families/caregivers concerning preventative health, treatment options and community resources. Documents delivery of health care and nursing processes in accordance with specific specialty area standards and network nursing policy. Education and Licensure

BLS Provider obtained within 1 month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted. Certified Nurse Midwife credentialed from the American Midwifery Certification Board (AMCB) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Texas Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. Master's or Doctorate of Science in Nursing or Midwifery or Doctorate of Nursing Practice required. About Ascension Seton

Licensure/Certification/Registration
