Youth Development Coordinator opportunity at Boys & Girls Clubs of San Francisco (BGCSF). Programs focus on academic success, healthy lifestyles, good character & community engagement, and job readiness with earning potential. Position Purpose

Under the direct supervision of the Assistant Clubhouse Director, the Youth Development Coordinator supports the Clubhouse by providing program and departmental support to Club Staff. This person will run or support programs that engage youth ages 6-18 and will be accountable for achieving the goals and objectives of those programs. The role may also support the Clubhouse Director and Assistant Director in various administrative duties, including data entry reporting. The Youth Development Coordinator supports our Mission Clubhouse by providing program and departmental support to Club Staff. This is a part-time opportunity offering 25 hours weekly during the school year and 40 hours weekly for Summer Programming. Key Responsibilities

Plan and conduct educational and recreational programs in a Clubhouse. Help youth with homework and tutoring, run games, and drop-in activities. Develop educational programs that are stimulating and age-appropriate for all members. Provide an environment that promotes creativity and exploration through learning. Safeguard the confidentiality and safety of all members. Promote and stimulate membership in the department ensuring that every Club member participates in some Learning Center activities. Understand and communicate to youth the importance of doing well in school and having a plan for going to college, vocational school, or entering the workforce at age 18. Support site in taking program attendance daily for programs. Support with school pick-ups, snacks, outside recreation time, and games room activities. Work with volunteer tutors and students to participate in an ongoing education improvement program. Requirements

Required Skills: Experience working with youth ages 6-18 years old in a youth development setting. The ability to create strong relationships with youth quickly. Ability to manage youth behaviors and maintain high expectations. An interest in a variety of youth programs including technology, art, sports, and recreation. Strong positive disciplinary skills with youth. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Demonstrated research and organization skills. Ability to use PC software such as Microsoft Office and Adobe Photoshop. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with continual distractions. Self-starter. Flexibility. Detail-oriented. Strong ability to create and follow systems and procedures. Current Red Cross First Aid/CPR certification (or within 90 days of employment). Preferred Skills: B.A. or B.S. degree from an accredited college or university or equivalent youth development experience. Language Skills: Bilingual Spanish and English. Physical Requirements

Must be able to lift 25 lbs. Must be able to stand for at least 2 hours consecutively. Must be able to sit at a computer workstation for long periods of time. Benefits

The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, and other BGCSF needs. Depending on need and requirement, an individual could be hired at entry, mid, or top of the range. Current range: $20.00 to $21.00 per hour. Salary Description: $21.55 to $22.00 per hour.
