Overview
The Johns Hopkins Department of Radiation Oncology and Molecular Radiation Sciences is seeking a Chief of the division of Molecular Radiation Sciences (MRS). The Chief will be appointed as a Professor of Radiation Oncology with tenure and will oversee MRS faculty and staff, appoint MRS faculty and staff across Johns Hopkins Medicine, and ensure the department’s mission is fulfilled through a world class academic research program. The Chief maintains responsibility for balancing the department's academic and education missions as they pertain to the MRS group, and contributes to training the next generation by coordinating with the clinical and physics divisions to provide outstanding education in radiation biology. The position requires the highest standards of ethics, compliance oversight, and accountability. The Department is dedicated to patient-centered, specialized care. The successful candidate will oversee the research strategy and operations at two sites: Johns Hopkins Hospital and the proton center at Sibley Memorial Hospital in the District of Columbia. Oversee the Molecular Radiation Sciences (MRS) faculty and staff and appoint MRS faculty and staff across Johns Hopkins Medicine. Advance the department's mission through a world class academic research program and balance the MRS group’s academic and education missions. Ensure the success of the educational mission by training the next generation and collaborating with the clinical and physics divisions to provide outstanding education in radiation biology. Ph.D., M.D., or combined M.D./Ph.D. degree with demonstrated competency in radiation biology. Significant track record of excellence, including publications in radiation-related scientific endeavors. Extensive experience in investigator-initiated research, collaboration with industry partners, and mentoring senior and junior faculty, postdoctoral fellows, residents, and students.
