About The Role Mixpanel engineering is a small team that works quickly, prioritizing getting value to customers and iterating to make those experiences even better. We offer a powerful product analytics tool while focusing on a delightful user experience. Full stack engineers have freedom to move across the stack to deliver value—from building snappy UIs and reliable services to leveraging our query engine to help customers get answers and deliver great products. We seek engineers who understand and own customer problems, participating in ideation, delivery, and maintenance. We encourage ownership and autonomy—if you see customer pain points, you will be empowered to fix them. We believe UX is a key differentiator and invest heavily in UI for a snappy, intuitive experience. We follow Product-Led Growth, aiming for enterprise adoption through a strong user experience that helps users reach answers quickly. Responsibilities A typical project involves working across our stack, creating endpoints for features and developing/deploying the UI. Examples of projects we’ve worked on include: A feature allowing customers to share their metrics publicly, with security considerations to prevent unintended data leaks while enabling easier collaboration. Rebuilding Live View and rebranding to Events to improve trust and debugging of data and query results, removing limitations, improving workflows, and tightening UX. Revamping dashboards UI to streamline creating and saving analyses, and refining data models based on user behavior. Redesigning the query builder to show live results on one screen, balancing visual space and multi-view capabilities for a more intuitive UX. Improving segmentation performance to let users customize comparisons at query time. What we're looking for Full stack engineers with 6 - 12 years of professional experience across UI, API, and DB layers. Ownership mindset with a focus on delivering value to users/customers. Pragmatic approach to delivering solutions. Experience with web application architecture and principles. Proven track record of launching and maintaining large-scale web products. Compensation The listed amount represents total target cash compensation (TTCC) including base salary and variable pay (bonus or commissions). Variable compensation type depends on role and level. The position is eligible for equity consideration and benefits including medical, vision, and dental. See our benefits offerings in the linked resources. The salary range for this role is $229,500 - $280,500 USD. These ranges are benchmarked to SF Bay Area data and may be updated periodically. Individual pay within the range depends on experience, skills, and qualifications.
