This position will support the Arizona Department of Health Services, WIC Program's automated management information system, HANDS, a .net application. Responsibilities include logical and physical database design, analysis of requirements, development of requirements for database modifications, monitoring outside contractors performance, understanding database internal effectively, outlining and overseeing corrective actions to resolve technical problems, database patching and ensuring documentation of all modifications of the database. Job Duties
Analyze WIC user needs and database requirements. Analyze database scripts and logic, assist with debugging, make recommendations for changes required for performance improvement, supervise scripting, coordinate with internal and external database support teams, and provide training and guidance to other staff. Analyze database performance, design logic, physical database structures, and monitor the database and contractor installation, maintenance and upgrading on multiple platforms; assist users acceptance testing, oversee testing databases, and approve code changes. Communicate effectively with users, application support/development teams, supervisors and others; participate in weekly technical discussions; adapt to changing environment and WIC program requirements. Provide Oracle and Discoverer support to users, assist in planning and training of WIC staff, and deliver timely customer service. Write RFQ requirements for database changes (change orders). Perform other duties as assigned related to the position (typically 5% - 10%). Knowledge Of

Unix, EPe, and Windows operating systems and procedures. Application programming, system requirements, and documentation procedures. Considerable knowledge of Oracle technology.
