Channel File Systems at CrowdStrike is a critical component of our zero-prem-burden, scan-less automated threat detection, alerting and response product suite. The role focuses on building frameworks, libraries and tooling used for testing its distributed services and APIs, and contributing to core production systems. The candidate will work in an environment where quality is the culture, using cutting-edge tools and technologies. The role involves verifying features that span processing, data and customer-facing layers to support millions of events per second, store terabytes of data, and deliver accurate information to customers. What You'll Do
Verify component, system integration and application-level features to ensure reliability, accuracy and performance. Review engineering technical design documents and requirements; provide plans and strategies for testability. Increase and improve automated test coverage. Contribute to existing tools, frameworks and related solutions. Leverage new open source solutions to build new testing tools. Improve product quality across the platform and applications. Collaborate to determine root causes of production outages and implement quality improvements to prevent future outages. Create and maintain test infrastructure; build frameworks and packages for automation. Dive into back-end development as needed to drive testing efforts. What You'll Need
7+ years of combined experience as an SDET and/or Backend Developer with a focus on distributed services and APIs. 2-3+ years building testing frameworks and tooling for a Cloud SaaS product. A computer science background or equivalent experience (programming concepts, data structures, algorithms). Experience with Go, Python, Scala, Java, C++, JavaScript, or similar languages. Networking knowledge: protocols and distributed systems. Web services: JSON, REST, RPC, XML; AWS EC2 & S3. Data storage: RDBMS, NoSQL and caching technologies (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, Cassandra, SQL Server, Redis, Memcached). Strong debugging skills to identify design flaws, race conditions and performance bottlenecks. Application, OS, web browser or hardware compatibility testing. Understanding of computer and/or network security. A love for breaking software systems in creative and useful ways. Ability to produce rock-solid solutions for product quality concerns and to thrive under challenging goals. Strong communication, collaboration and delivery abilities. Bonus Points
