Overview
RWJBarnabas Health and Monmouth Medical Center are seeking a Director of Acute Care Surgery in Long Branch, NJ. This is an opportunity to lead and grow an Acute Care Surgery program in a busy community setting. The Director will have 80% clinical and 20% administrative responsibilities, with on-call coverage required.
The anticipated salary range for this position is $600,000 to $830,000 per year. Compensation offered will depend on factors such as educational background, skills, and professional experience.

Position Overview
Provide strategic and clinical leadership to establish a comprehensive Acute Care Surgery program
Oversee the development and implementation of Emergency General Surgery
Deliver direct patient care in emergency general surgery and support critically ill surgical patients in the postoperative period
Lead and mentor residents and medical students in collaboration with Rutgers University School of Medicine
Support ongoing research efforts in Acute Care Surgery
Collaborate with hospital and system leadership to advance programmatic goals
Candidate Requirements
Board-certified/eligible by the American Board of Surgery with added qualifications in Surgical Critical Care
Fellowship trained in Surgical Critical Care
At least 7 years of relevant clinical and leadership experience
Demonstrated commitment to teaching, research, and scholarly activity
Prior experience in program development preferred
Academic rank with Rutgers University commensurate with experience
