Overview
The Ohio State University College of Medicine and the Wexner Medical Center seek an academic Occupational Health physician to join the Department of Family and Community Medicine. Academic rank and track commensurate with academic record and experience. The Ohio State University (OSU) is seeking a full-time Occupational Health Medical Physician to provide medical oversight and care at our Occupational Medicine and Occupational Health and Wellness Clinics in McCampbell Hall. This position is responsible for delivering, overseeing, and supervising medical care for all OSU employees in support of the Service. The role includes collaboration with nursing leadership, hospital administrative leadership, and other leaders to provide operational management, financial management, and leadership within the Service. The successful candidate will assist clinically and administratively with strategic planning related to departmental scope, services, policy procedures, and performance improvement for OM/OHW services. The Department of Family and Community Medicine is home to 83 faculty members, six fellows, and 27 residents; our departments include sports medicine, occupational medicine, integrative medicine, behavioral health, health service researchers, and family medicine. Our faculty is involved in medical student education, practicum lectures, and rotations. OSU offers competitive salaries and benefits commensurate with qualifications. Responsibilities
Provide medical oversight and care at the Occupational Medicine and Occupational Health and Wellness Clinics. Support collaboration with clinical and administrative leadership to ensure operational management, financial management, and leadership within the Service. Provide clinical and administrative support for OSU’s occupational health clinical policies, programs, and outcomes to meet workforce requirements. Assist with strategic planning related to departmental scope, services, policy procedures, and performance improvement for OM/OHW services. Qualifications
A physician in good standing as a member of the attending or courtesy Medical Staff of the Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center (OSUWMC). Board Certified in Occupational Medicine highly preferred or currently board certified in their specialty with most recent duties in occupational health or a highly regulated field. Demonstrable experience in an occupational health/university/academic medical center/appropriate corporate clinical setting. Obtained or willing to attain and maintain certifications as required by the Medical Director (e.g., DOT/FMCSA CME, MRO certification, Ohio BWC certified physician, USCIS designated Civil Surgeon, FAA AME, or other required certifications). Eligible for an Ohio license. Qualify for an academic appointment; rank and salary commensurate with training and experience. Faculty Definitions
Clinical faculty (any rank) focus on delivering clinical care and may include teaching and/or research. Tenure-track faculty focus on research, service, and teaching, with possible clinical care.
