Summary of the Role The Senior Consultant role helps lead Eunomia’s efforts to advance a circular economy and bring about positive change in the world. This is an exciting opportunity to engage in multiple projects at the forefront of circular economy thinking and have a direct impact on policy and programs in North America. You will be involved in or lead multiple projects at once, from supporting state and provincial governments, developing circular economy and plastics-based policy based on in-depth financial, technical and social cost-benefit modelling, to supporting major corporations in redesigning their packaging or production processes. This role will also help shape a growing North American Eunomia office in terms of technical outputs, internal processes and culture.

Key Responsibilities Project Management

Facilitate multiple projects and workstreams simultaneously with varying clients and timelines ensuring project outputs are delivered on time and within budget.

Develop project plans considering client needs, staffing, and resourcing availability.

Manage project teams of 3-10 staff, which may include junior staff, senior technical experts, subcontractors, and team members in other countries/time zones.

Update and track project hours and resourcing within the company management database.

Assist project invoicing to ensure positive cash flow of projects.

Liaise with clients who may include senior leaders and decision makers in private and public sectors, and non-profits.

Stakeholder Management and Engagement

Convene multi-stakeholder groups to gather data, insights and inputs into projects.

Technical Delivery

Apply technical expertise in circular economy systems, waste management, recycling, plastics, and circular supply chains to project methodologies and outputs.

Design and lead stakeholder management processes including workshops, focus groups, and interviews.

Lead project report writing and develop methodologies and research guides to answer complex circular economy questions; review outputs for quality.

Design effective ways to communicate complex technical outputs to clients and the public.

Synthesize findings into concise and engaging presentations.

Business Development

Manage project proposals, including responses to requests for proposals from state governments or project design based on client conversations.

Facilitate project opportunities through your network of industry contacts.

Present or lead panel discussions at industry conferences.

Write thought leadership to demonstrate Eunomia leadership in the circular economy field.

Line Management

Manage, mentor and develop junior staff members.

Key Requirements

7+ years' experience of project direction/program management and delivery in waste, resource management, circular supply chains, and circular economy areas, ensuring on-time and on-budget delivery with client satisfaction.

Understanding of collection, processing and reprocessing of material streams and related policy to create a circular economy from a global perspective.

Experience with stakeholder management including leading workshops and focus groups with business leaders and technical experts.

Experience working with or for consumer goods companies, especially their sustainability departments.

Demonstrable experience of line management.

Demonstrable experience applying creative, practical, and common-sense thinking to real-world problems.

Experience of working within a consultancy business model.

Knowledge of Eunomia as a business, its clients and service offerings.

A strong network within the circular economy sector.

Able to identify new business opportunities with existing and new clients.

Knowledge, Education, and Desired Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, economics, engineering, or other relevant circular economy field.

Flexible and strong work ethic; able to lead and deliver multiple technical projects and bids under pressure.

Able to work on virtual teams across different time zones.

Comfortable with ambiguity on project tasks.

Working structure is a 9-day Fortnight, with office closure every other Friday.

401K retirement plan with employer contributions up to 5% on a match basis after 3 months of service.
