As we continue to expand our presence in Syracuse, we’re seeking a visionary Project Director to lead projects, grow client relationships, and drive business development in the region. The Role As Project Director, you will be responsible for overseeing the execution of multiple building construction projects while also playing a key role in expanding Pike’s market share in Central New York. This position is ideal for a results-driven leader who thrives in both project delivery and client development. You will serve as a trusted partner to clients, industry influencers, and subcontractors, while mentoring teams and ensuring Pike’s reputation for safety, quality, and innovation continues to grow. What You’ll Do Lead the day-to-day management and successful delivery of multiple construction projects. Establish, foster, and expand relationships with clients, subcontractors, vendors, and industry stakeholders. Develop and implement strategies to pursue new markets and projects within the Syracuse region. Represent Pike at industry events, government agencies, financial institutions, and with key customers. Provide strategic guidance on estimating, cost control, and risk management. Mentor and develop project managers, superintendents, and field teams to drive performance and growth. Act as a visible leader in the community, reinforcing Pike’s 150+ year reputation for excellence. Who You Are A proven leader with experience successfully managing large building construction projects from start to finish. Skilled at developing business opportunities, networking, and building long-term client relationships. Entrepreneurial, approachable, and results-oriented — with the ability to inspire teams and earn trust quickly. Comfortable balancing strategic growth with operational excellence in a fast-paced environment. A mentor and coach who empowers others to succeed while holding teams accountable. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Minimum 15 years’ experience in a construction industry leadership role (20+ years preferred for senior-level expertise). Demonstrated success as Lead Project Manager on multiple large-scale projects. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and construction management software. Strong knowledge of estimating, contracts, and job documentation; CPM scheduling preferred. Business development and client relationship experience required. Medical, dental, and vision insurance. Salary Range: $130,000-160,000 This range reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
