Responsibilities
Virginia Mason is fulfilling our vision of transforming healthcare by expanding our collaborative primary care team. We have an opportunity for a .75 - 1.0 FTE physician at our Regional Medical Center in desirable Lynnwood, Washington. Aspects of the Primary Care physician role:
Team-based approach:
Each provider is part of a subset or pod of the larger primary care team at our Lynnwood site. Each pod integrates MD/DO, ARNP or PA, with RN and MA support. The ARNP or PA helps support indirect care. It is standard to have team coverage when a provider is out of the office. Effective communication and empowered lead MAs allow pods to adapt and make quick changes to fit local team needs. Integrative primary care model:
Each primary care team site has an embedded pharmacist, social worker, and psychiatrist partnering to provide focused consultations, resulting in excellent health outcomes. Social workers are available to address social, emotional, behavioral, and environmental needs. Embedded specialty services:
Opportunities to work alongside medical specialists within your clinic. Referral options to over 30+ medical specialties within Virginia Mason, with collegial and responsive results. You will be able to text or page specialists on call. Teaching opportunities:
Virginia Mason is a teaching environment with regular opportunities to precept medical students and residents. Physicians can attend local CME events and present at the WA state ACP annual chapter meeting. There are options to attend monthly professional staff meetings and weekly Grand Rounds. Learning opportunities:
A teaching culture supportive of providers newly out of residency. A formal mentorship program guides new providers, with intermittent physician coaching on documentation and financial management. Innovation:
