Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Diagnose and treat conditions affecting the foot, ankle, and related structures of the leg.
Perform routine foot care (e.g., nail trimming, callus/corn removal) and advanced care for wounds, ulcers, infections, and diabetic foot conditions.
Order and interpret diagnostic tests such as x-rays and laboratory tests related to podiatric conditions.
Prescribe medications, orthotics, and treatments for podiatric issues.
Perform minor surgical procedures in accordance with licensure and scope of practice.
Collaborate with the primary care team and other specialty providers to coordinate care for patients, particularly those with chronic diseases such as diabetes and vascular conditions.
Document all patient interactions accurately and timely in the electronic health record (EHR).
Educate patients on proper foot hygiene, preventive care, and self-management strategies.
Participate in care team meetings, quality improvement initiatives, and health promotion events as needed.
Maintain compliance with all federal, state, and local laws, and adhere to FQHC policies and procedures.

Position Requirements Education and Licensure
Doctor of Podiatric Medicine (DPM) degree from an accredited podiatric medical school.
Completion of an accredited podiatric residency program.
Current, unrestricted license to practice podiatry in South Carolina.
DEA registration and CPR/BLS certification required.
Experience
Minimum of 1–3 years of experience preferred, ideally in a community health, FQHC, or outpatient clinical setting.
Experience in diabetic foot care, wound management, and minor surgical procedures is highly desirable.
